Meat skewers: a gluttony!

When you buy meat skewers in Italian supermarkets, they often are made of meat + vegetables. I know, vegetables are healthy but I think it’s not the best choise to cook them together with meat because of the taste, the different cooking time and contamination.

So a few years ago I decided to make them by myself! Here my recipe for delicious Italian meat skewers!

 

MAKES AB. 10 BITES
READY IN 45′

 

INGREDIENTS:

2 sausages

2 Vienna sausages (similat to hot dog)

3 chicken slices

 

1 teaspoon onion, chopped

5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons lemon juice

Salt, pepper, and rosemary to taste

 

 

STEP 1:CUT THE MEAT

Cut sausages, Vienna sausagen and chicken into cubes (ab. 2×2 cm or 3×3). It’s very important to get an uniformly cooked recipe.

 

STEP 2: STICK THE MEAT

Stick meat cubes into a long toothpick, then place them ina baking tin.

 

STEP 2: LET MARINATE

Place in a bowl: onion, oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper and rosemary. Beat well with a fork, then pour it on the meat skewers.

Cover the tin with clingfilm and let it rest (min 30 min).

 

STEP 4: COOK

Place the meat skewers on a hot grill and cook for  6-7 minutes covered with aluminium foil (turn them on each side during cooking time).
