Actually, I didn’t respect the traditional steps of the recipe because I’m sorry for garlic, but I really don’t like it! And at home I had a nice fresh asiago instead of provola cheese … (how couldn’t I use it!?).
So in short, Sicilian friends will shiver a little, but I hope they will also turn a blind eye this time 😉
The result of my version of Messina rolls is delicious: tender slices (you’ll easly cut them with a fork) and A super cheesy filling!
SERVES 4 PEOPLE
READY IN 8-10 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS:
4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
3 tablespoons Parmigiano cheese
salt to taste
1 tablespoons parsley, minced
16 very thin beef slices
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Asiago cheese (or the cheese you like)
extra virgin olive oil to taste
STEP 1: MIX THE PANURE
Mix in a bowl: breadcrumbs, Parmigiano, salt and parsley.

STEP 2: BREAD THE MEAT SLICES
Brush the meat slices with oil then bread them wth the mixture prepared on step 1.

Place a cheese stick in the centre of each slice, then wrap it.

To seal the rolls, stick them with a toothpick two by two.

STEP: COOK
Put a drizzle of oil in a hot grill pan, place the roll on it and add a little more on the top.

Cook just 3-4 minutes by turning them on all sides.
