What a lovely season: that of orange!
No more extract and powders to flavor desserts, it will be juice and orange zest that will make this very soft plumcake truly unforgettable!
Its preparation is very simple: that’s in fact the classic breakfast dessert with an extra gluttony, called orange glaze!
MAKES 1 PLUMCAKE
READY IN 1h
3 eggs at room temperature
7 oz sugar
2,8 oz seed oil
1 large orange (zest and juice)
8,8 oz all-purpose flour + 1 teaspoon baking powder
Butter and all purpose flour to taste
1 orange juice
3 teaspoons confectioner’s sugar
Orange zest to taste
STEP 1: BEAT THE EGGS
Place the eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk using the electric whisk (it will take about 10-12 minutes to get a light and fluffy mixture).
STEP 2: ADD LIQUIDS
Add, little by little, oil, then orange juice and grated zest.
STEP 3: ADD FLOUR
Add sifted flour with baking powder a spoon at a time.
STEP 4: COOK
Grease a plumcake mold with butter and sprinkle with flour.
Pour the cake dough into it and bake in preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 40 minutes (always do the toothpick test before turning the oven off).
STEP 5: MAKE THE ORANGE GLAZE
While the cake is baking, let’s make the glaze.
Boil orange juice + sugar.
Let it thicken, then turn it off.
STEP 6: POUR THE GLAZE
Pour the glaze on the plumcake and decore with orange zest.
